Default 1985 Resistor Cart

Hi there everone! Picked up an old 85 Ez-Go Electric Resistor Cart. I have checked all the wiring diagrams I could find and I have co-inflicting problems, the micro switches in the FNR switch have been removed, I wired the S2 Microswitch as shown Blue wire to IGN Sw Black to S2 on the switch board. Now on one of the Diagrams It shows a Jumped Black Between the Commons of Microswitch 1 and 2 with Green white to the NO of the Accelerator sw. My Accelerator Sw. only has two terminals not three. The other diagram I found has The NC connections of both micrsw's going to s1, with S2 common going to the accelerator Sw and S1 Common going to a Battery positive? Any comment on how to make electrical sense to activate the selenoids. I believe I need a power source off S1 to make the selenoid to get reverse? any help appreciated.

Welcome to BGW !!!

There are a few diffeerent ways to skin this cat. THat is why you are finding conflicting diagrams. Find one that is closest to your cart and go with it. Your micros can be commonly supplied NO and complete the solenoid activation circuit when closed from either one

Then thats why on the 2nd diagram I have SW1 connected to battery pos? I would assume S1 is a common on the selector, I would love to know what A1,A2,S1,and S2 requires to move the motor the diagrams dont tell you the pos or neg points of the motor. I also assume you need the selenoid activated in both fwd and reverse? and thanks for the reponse...

Typically the solenoid is an interrupter switch for the positive lead to the speed control unit which in turn feeds the motor.... can you post (or link us to ) the diagram you are using?

That diagram doesn't show the solenoid connections well?
Try this one

The problem I have with this diagram is the connection following from MS1, term NC to the buzzer onto the NO of the accelerator sw. I only have a two terminal sw, not three, I know its a pos source, so where can I place the pwr source on C directly to the NC of MS1?

The 2 post micro is just a simple on/off switch. The 3 post micro has the option to be connected on/off (NO) or off/on (NC) ... a simple continuity test should answer your question? No? The solenoid is a simple on/off switch also. The small terminals activate the big switch when both pos and neg are present on the small terminals.... one terminal will have a constant neg and the other will be fed by the micro.... That's all theory, but that is how the cart and the diagrams should go.

Thanks Scotty, I'm going to do some wire jumping on this sw, I think thats why the wiring diagram I can't post takes the wire from a BAT POS with a return to S1 as a GRD potential,, time for some practical on the machine
