Default Amount of 4/0 wire needed

I have an 05 pds and I am fixing to change the wires to 4/0 and I was wondering the total length needed to complete the whole thing? Is there a thread somewhere that has it, I am almost positive there is but I cant find it? Thanks..

Oooops about forgot, its a 36v.

I think most get anywhere from 25 ft to 30 ft of cable and that will get all of them upgraded.

I hope you mean 4ga not 4/0ga cable.
The wire in 4ga cable is .4" thick and the wire in 4/0ga is .8" thick.
4/0 cable weighs 4 times as much as 4ga and also carries 4 times the current.

Does it matter what kind of wire you get as long as it is a copper 4 guage wire? I see alot on ebay but it is under the audio section, will that work?

Audio wire is a no-no, the insulation is not conducive to acid and golf carts.
Go to your local welding supply, I buy my 4ga for about $0.75 a foot and I also get my lugs there as well.

Thanks again. you got a cheep suplier. I called a local shop here and they want 1.89 per ft. I guess that is still pretty good.

I would shop around, $1.30-$1.35 should be the most you pay.
