state of charge wires
I have a 99 txt series cart and was wondering if the two wires from the state of charge meter go to the battery pack? I don't really feel like digging into the cowel to find out and couldn't find it in the factory manual. there are two probably 10 gauge wires from the charging receptical that go to pos and neg but there are also two other wires probably 14 gauge that are on the pos and neg also, thought they might be the state of charge wires but not sure.

Re: state of charge wires
It is possible, but you can't tell for sure unless you trace them or disconnect them and use a meter to check for continuity to the state of charge meter.

Re: state of charge wires
If it is the round analog gauge, the 14ga wires are all you need, it's just measuring voltage not supplying power to anything.

Re: state of charge wires
Sorry Doug guess I should have included that it is the rectangular digital gauge.

Re: state of charge wires
Right on thanks Doug, looks like according to the bottom right one there is two wires that go to the battery pack.

Re: state of charge wires
So, If I wanted to get rid of the old SOC meter that doesn't work worth diddly-doo and replace it with a analog round gauge, I could use #1 & #2 wires enetering from the left side of the schematic of the new gauge? #4 only supplies power to the SOC meter correct?

If you put it directly to the battery, the meter will be on all the time, if you install 1 on the switch and 1 on the battery it will only be on when the key is on. Either way will work fine, the draw on the gauge is almost nothing. |

Re: state of charge wires
Boy I am sucking in the information department today. I wasn't reffering to the SOC meter wires, those I will keep where they are "with the charging receptacle wires". I installed a some fuse box's on the inner wheel well and was curious if I could run the power and ground from those to the 3rd and 4th battery in line. Sorry again for my incompotence.
