Exclamation Battery / Charger problem

Hello folks
I have a problem and hope you can help out.
The charger had a bad cap which I replaced. The charger now seems to work as I have tested it on another cart and it trips on. The battery voltage on mine is 16.5 v. I was told that the batteries may be too weak and the charger will not trip on because of this.
True? I dont know. Any suggestions? I really dont want to buy new batteries.

Thanks in advance.

Yes they are too weak to kick the charger on. You can try and bring them up with an automotive 12 volt charger 2 batteries at a time.

If I remember right - they need to see 28v minimum to come on. Remember that at 6.0v those batteries are flat. Fully charged they will be 6.4 to 6.8. Good Luck.
