Putting on HD Rear Springs

I'm getting ready to put HD rear springs on my 95 Metalist/TXT. Anybody have any good advise before I start this project?

buy some new rubbers. While you are in there doing this upgrade, you might as well spend a few dollars and replace those rubber bushings and shock mount bushings. I've actually started using Club car bushings on the rear of my E-Z-GO's and have eliminated the squeaks that the factory rubber causes.

Buy (and install) shock extenders. Those heavier springs will stretch your shocks to their limit (and possibly beyond)

If you don't already have them, get a couple of E-Clips and cotter pins for when you remove the brake cables.

Spray the front spring bolts with pb blaster or wd-40 tonight so when you go to pull the bolts tomorrow, they are ready for extraction.....

i would recommend doing one side at a time so the diff/motor does not rotate down. don't ask me how i know! jim

Make sure you disconnect the batts first, just in case the motor rotates forward, this prevents from accidental sparkage.

I install HD springs everyday on carts. I have never used shock extenders. There is no use for them. I do replace all rubber mounts, do one side at a time, and disconnect the battery pack. Other than that its pretty much straight foward.

Put jack stands under the frame rail in front of the front spring mount then use a floor jack under the axle tube on the side you are dismantling... Remove the wheel first

Wished I would've found this forum before I put a lift kit, rear seat kit and heavy duty rear springs on my cart. I did do the rear springs one at a time. Now after reading the forum ready to put controller, solenoid, and 4G wires.
