Re: 91 ezgo spirit
you can do all the same upgrades that are available for a Marathon.
Controller, Motor, Lift Kit, Tires and Wheels, conversion to 48V. |

Re: 91 ezgo spirit
we have some great site sponsors plus some members post up parts for sale from time to time.
Controllers are a matter of preference. Many like Alltrax for it's price, personally I prefer GE for it's quality (price isn't bad either). You need a controller in the 400-700 AMP range with a 0-5k throttle input. The Marathon (Spirit) had a 4 buss setup but you can use a 3 Buss controller and simply re-route the A2 wire to go directly from the F&R to the motor (bypass the stop off at the controller). Let me know what type of setup you are going for long term and I can assist you further. |

Re: 91 ezgo spirit
rabbit i dont no what i really want to do. i have this spirt cart that runs great and in goo shape. And i also have a 00 gas ezgo with no motor that the body and chassis are in good shape. I no i want to go with bigger tires and lift. But i like the 00 year body better, was think about taking rear and all running gear and electronics out of the sprit (marathon) and fit them to the 00 chassis and frame. Or would it be better to buy the ITS throttle pedal and controller and for it and do the F&R switch like u do it, But would this work with the motor out ouf the spirt. what would u suggest.

Re: 91 ezgo spirit
If you have time (and ALOT of patience, you could probably get the Marathon (Spirit) running gear to fit your 2000, but..... You are fighting an uphill battle in that you will have to convert the Pedalbox to electric ($$), add battery trays($$) and then you have to completely convert the electronics since the F&R is different (as you said, the twin solenoid would work for this)...... it's ALOT of things to do.....
In my opinion, if you have the time, sure you could do it, but if you'd rather be riding, sell the 2000 frame and the Spirit and buy a newer model cart (try for a 2002 or newer E-Z-GO since that has the newer style steering) Then mod the newer one to suit your needs. Or stick with the Spirit and mod it to suit your needs.... |

Re: 91 ezgo spirit
ok. I answered part of your question in the build thread I have going, as for the ITS pedal box, yes, it could be added to the cart (probably the easiest part of the build you would have since the 2000 was designed to take either the gas throttle assy or the electric assy). You would have to check with a sponsor for the cost of that assy.
