schauer charger (JAC2036)
Hey guys i got a question on the charger, it's about a year old. It does not shut off, tryed it a few times from 3 hrs to 12 hrs and it is at full charge 44-volts. It use to go to full charge then float charge at 39 volts. I tryed my friends & my old power wise charger and it chargers to 45 volts and they both shut off. I did check voltage on the cart after 8 hrs it was 37.5 volts. (after charging). Does any one have info on these 36 volts schauer charger. What can i look for .thanks

Re: schauer charger (JAC2036)
If it's only about 1 year old, return it to where you purchased it. The charger carries a warranty of 2 years.
I deal with these chargers all the time, there are no "servicable" parts inside the unit. It is all solid state tech inside and the manufacturer made sure they placed a warranty on it to cover this type of situation. That being said, remember that these chargers were designed to "float" charge your batteries (once the batteries are fully broken in) up to about 44 volts and then go into maintainer mode. The charger never truely "shuts off". |
