Controller recommendation
I have a 1993 Marathon 36V. I run up and down a hill to the lake in the cart with my kids and wife in tow. While ascending the hill we top out at 7mph on the GPS. Flat ground is around 12 Mph but I'd like to see the upper teens to 20 if I can. I have tons of 4 guage and lugs to upgrade the wiring anything else I would need? I was thinking a 400 amp Alltrax?
Thanks |

Re: Controller recommendation
400 Amp Alltrax with a Plum Quick motor would set you right.....
Or if it's still available, one of the members had an AC motor/controller setup for sale that would REALLY make you stand out in the crowd...... |

Re: Controller recommendation
These older metal carts are a little heavier and the motors a little smaller than their successors. So you may have to do a little more to get 20mph.

Re: Controller recommendation
Would just a controller do much? Get me up the hill a little faster? If I didn't get into the 20 range thats fine, its really just puttin' up the hill that bugs me.
Summer, I'm not sure how to get that information. |

Re: Controller recommendation
Hate N Pain, a higher amp controller will only give you more torque for those hills, no speed increase on the flats. Your uphill speed will increase however. Be sure all your cables and batteries are fresh, and all connections are clean and bright.
