Voltage Reducer

After reading Scotty's reasons for needing a voltage reducer I think I need one. I only have front after market halogen headlights and LED tail lights. No stereo or other 12v stuff. Please make a recommendation of which reducer I should buy and where to buy it. Thanks

Any of our sponsors sell reduceers I would imagine, Personally I would say get one rated for 20 Amps or more..... Even though you are not surrently using that much, you have been bitten by the Buggie bug and you will likely start adding to the cart..... lmao

mine came from ebay. 10a powers my lights and mp3 stereo kit. most are on all the time. could be a fire hazard. I switch mine on with a 3 position keyswitch.

Be careful with the key position if you are only using it for the lights then you should be fine, but Gorno had problem with his by sending too much through it. Good Luck

We had too many of the inexpensive 10a reducers melt down... the inconveinence and expense of replacing them with a higher amperage unit led us to using a 20a unit to start with on all carts we build.

mine has been flawless so far. if it melts down I know how to replace it. if it stops working I will check the switch. thanks for the heads up.

I understand the reasons for a shop using a higher quality unit. I have the ability to toubleshoot and identify a failure. I can also repair it myself. It is an easy gamble for me.
