48volt pack total voltage
my pack shows 51.7-8 6volt batts. is this acceptable?
i am using a 15 amp 36 volt charger and a 10 amp 12 volt charger. . i think this, combined with beer cooler tripped my breaker. how many amps does a 48 volt charger use? is this the time to hire an electrician? thx jim |

Re: 48volt pack total voltage
Obviously, your circuit is not up to the task. You need to isolate the beer cooler to a different circuit, OR upgrade the existing circuit.

Re: 48volt pack total voltage
How many circuits do you have in the garage? Maybe we can work this out.
BTW, your voltage is fine, and the charger should state it's current draw on the ID panel. |

Re: 48volt pack total voltage
gorno-thx for the voltgage check. the garage is on one circuit and the chargers are at the end of the chain. right now i am charging them one pack at a time. this works but is a pain. how many amps does your 48 volt charger draw-typically? jim

Re: 48volt pack total voltage
Your charger should say right on it but I can tell you that if you have two battery chargers and a refer unit plus lights may BE TOO MUCH for the 20a garage circuit. Perhaps you can unplug the refer while you run the 2 chargers?

Re: 48volt pack total voltage
If you have an outside plug by the garage it may be on a different circuit also

Re: 48volt pack total voltage
Up at our campsite on a 20a circuit I run a Lestermatic 48v, Lestermatic 36v, Ceiling fan, Rope lights, Miniature lights, and 2 lights in the shed. I get away with it, but just barely I think.

Re: 48volt pack total voltage
wow! i want to thank gordo and scotty. did the conversion about 5 days ago- some diff. - so after doing the battmans ( scotty) tuning on the thing-today it never slowed down coming up the hill.. also the new soc read full fore the first time.
also both of y'all, i unhooked the beer cooler and now both chargers work at the same time! i know i really to rewire the garage but will need some help. went thru navy basic electric about 45 years ago and i guess all the brain got lost somewhere allong the way. |
