Shock shield rattle?
My diamond plate shock shield came in this week and I installed it. I assume the bottom part floats while the upper part is secured to the frame. If this is so and I did it correct, I was looking for any tips on how to stop the rattle when riding those not so smooth paths. The rattle is caused by the bottom part of the shield that floats hitting against the axle area. Rubber bushings maybe?

Re: Shock shield rattle?
There should be a pair of braces that attach to the frame behind the top of the shocks to the lower half of the shock shield.. They're nothing more than a 1" wide sheet metal strap..

Re: Shock shield rattle?
That was it. The shield didn't come with anything. No directions, hardware or anything else. There were only two predrilled holes and they were at the top so I drilled two more lower to bolt the bottom of the brackets on.
Thanks, John. |
