Driveable without key
My wifes golf cart can be driven without the key and still moves forward with the directional selector switch in neutral. I confirmed the key switch and the direction switch are working properly. Would this be a problem with the solenoid, the controller or something else?

Re: Driveable without key
Yes it could be the solenoid is continuously engaged and the throttle is never completely off and the gear selector is never in neutral ... Is this an older resistor coil cart? We need make and year to help.

Re: Driveable without key
I believe it is a 2002? It is a PDS Electric Golf cart, Serial # 2325494. Can you tell the year by the serial number? I down loaded the service manual, but it's not help trying to figure out if the wiring hooked up correctly. Any suggestions?

Re: Driveable without key
The year of the cart is in the last 2 digits of the manufacture code on the serial tag, determine if the solenoid is stuck with a simple continuity test.
There should be no continuity between the large posts when key off peddle not pushed. If there is check the peddle box micro under the driver's floor mat. PDS cart = forward/reverse toggle switch on the dash? |
