Re: 1990 EZ-GO Golf Car
Check your throttle pot, should read 0-5k ohm from stopped to full throttle. Motor or controller could be....worn out. Ive seen more than a few of those carts where the controller is just worn out, motor too. Check your throttle pot first.
You can measure the ohms by placing the meter probes on the black wire and the white wire on the controller. Place the cart in neutral and on jack stands when testing. |

Re: 1990 EZ-GO Golf Car
I had similar problems with my 95. Roady is right check the controller. mine was bad. In the manual there is a trouble shooting section. takes about 20 minutes with a volt meter to run all the tests to find your problems. Get the cart jacket up first.

Re: 1990 EZ-GO Golf Car
I am assuming that you have a controller cart and not a resistor cart :-) In between the batteries should be a black cover or hood with a screw in the middle. Under that should square C metal mounting. Your controller is mounted in a vertical position. Your solenoid next to it and your pot box below the solenoid on one of the wing walls. Your speed control rod connects to the pot box. If you put the cart on jack stands you can see it from below. it is only about 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches by 3/4 of an inch thick. shinny aluminum.

There is a sticky at the top that scottyb did. Start with that. I will see if I can scan the pages from my manual.

LOL At the top of the page that lists all the discussions on trouble shooting there are posts that the moderators think are important enough to keep so others can easily find and read them. They often have information that answer questions that come up again and again.
