Default think it is time

I am thinking it is time for new batteries. 05 ezgo txt 36v all stock with lights added

Range has been getting shorter and shorter. Now it barely makes it up the small hill to the back yard. Never mind the big hill from the road the house.

If i remember corectley, the other day i checked voltage of the batteris. they ranged from 6.2 to 6.4 charged. I may be off on that will charge them again and double check

Just chekcked after about a 20 min run and the pack voltage is 35.9 each battery is 6.2, 5.1, 6.2, 4.8, 6.2, and 6.2. The batteries are 05 trogin t105. could i get by with just replacing the two low batteris till i can save the $ for the rest of the pack. I know the ideal would be to replace the whol pack but at a local price of $160 each. OUCH

At that age your best bet is to replace the pack. You can go with other than Trojan. Maintenance is the key to battery life.

Don't get me wrong, Trojans are a good battery, but look to Excide and US Battery, I have been running EXcide and have good results, plus they are cheaper.

talk to your local shop and see if they have a couple of good used batteries you can put in to replace those 2 bottom batteries, then save up for a full pack of new ones as soon as possible. DO NOT, under any circumstances, put 2 new batteries in with those 4 old batteries as you will be destroying those 2 new batteries in a VERY short time and end up having to replace them again when you replace the other 4.

wow, really? I sell used batteries all the time. It's a great alternate revenue stream..... sell a used 3 year old battery for $40, no warranty, just something for the retired couple to get by on until they can get a new pack....... your local dealers need to rethink their business strategy during these tough economic times......

They won't even talk to you about it, and when the number 4 ezgo dealer in the US is here, they want to control everything, they have started to buy other dealerships just to close shop.

I just wish i had some good used batteries. All the batts I get are junk 5+ years old.

I have had good luck runing PowerTron batteries from safe start. Batteries are batteries. Maintance is the key. If you just use your cart for the neighborhood than you cna go cheaper and be ok. If you use it for hunting or long hauls, than i would spring for the Trojans. Also when you replace batteries replace those cables, if you haven't done so in a year. Go 4ga all of them.
