Cart temporarily stops after 2 blocks
Haven't seen this particular symptom on the forum yet...cart batteries charge well, and the meter reads at full charge. Cart dies after a block or so of driving. Charge meter reads half charged. After sitting for only a couple of minutes the meter shows fully charged again, and I can get another block or two before it stops.
Any ideas? |

Re: Cart temporarily stops after 2 blocks
Welcome to BGW> Possibly one dead battery.
To do this test correctly you will need a voltmeter. Check the water level in each cell. Check that all wires are secure and your connections are clean. Now with the voltmeter check the voltage on the pack and on each battery, draw diagram and # your batteries. Write down the test results next to each battery #, Example: Pack voltage = 36.2v Battery #1 = 5.7v 30min after charged = 6.4v when cart stopped 6.2v Battery #2 = 5.3v etc. then charge the pack. After the charge cycle is complete wait 30 minutes and repeat the tests, write down findings. Then go for a ride and when the cart stops, pull out the tester and test all batteries and the pack again, write it down. By now, you have a pretty good idea about the condition of your batteries...Post your test results here and we will see what you have....... |

Thanks all. Just purchased the voltmeter, wire brushes, and will go through all wiring completely. You've been a great help...keep up the good work!

Re: Cart temporarily stops after 2 blocks
Each Battery reading: 5.7-5.8, total 35.6.
Found the broken wire to the controller. One pull and twist and it came off, so I couldn't take a post-ride check. I'll be going through and re-wiring all connections. Thanks for all the help! |
