Default motor price question

what would a fair price be for the 83 ge motor out of my ezgo. runs good.
not looking to get rich just a quick sale and get some coin back from the new motor.

IMO the market for an 83 would be small, maybe a $100 or so, maybe someone else will chime in.

Depending on where you're getting the rewound motor from, there's a core charge if you don't have a rebuildable motor to send it.

How many you want.... $100 for an '83 motor? Unless they could document the rewind of it in the last say year or 2, I would never pay that much for an 83..... Who knows what damage has been done in the last 27 years to that motor......

Exactly, I think he is making a mistake in trying to sell the core he will need at a later date......

Unless the buyer is next door, the shipping charge will exceed $50 so add that to the price.

I think you guys are all reading more into the question than I asked. I had 2 motors and my rebuilt one is already in the cart. This is a spare motor that I don't need.

Did you send in a core when you got the rebuilt motor? If not, contact the company and see if you can still get the credit for the return. Value in the sale depends on buyer and the seller. Given the age, I'd think the asking price should be lower than the "rebuild core value", but I'll defer to the experts on that aspect.

I'd put it on ebay and in the forsale section on appropriate forums. It would be interesting to see what you get. You know its always worth at least core value and maybe you would help somebody out to just keep a cart going.
