Bench programming alltrax
Has anyone bench programmed these controllers? I see on their web site that you can but could not find where you would hook the power and ground to. I did see that you would use 18v. I plan on just hooking to a dc power supply. Also the throttle up & down settings, is higher the # the slower it ramps?the reason I'm asking is that the company shipped my controller with the 0-5k throttle instead of its. I believe it was a honest mistake and they are shipping me a usb-rs232 cable overnight so it will be here when i get the controller on friday ,they knew it was their mistake and did not charge me for the cable or shipping. Also the over under voltage? just want to make sure that it is what it should be.

thanks scotty ,i see they use two 9v's, but i am assuming that i could just use a dc power supply set at 18v's

Re: Bench programming alltrax
Why not install it and then program it. Is it not going in a cart you have?

Re: Bench programming alltrax
If you only have a desktop PC sometimes it is hard to get the cart close enough to plug in....... I pre program for some of my customers ( free of charge ) sometimes and then ship. Like this PDS controller that went to Ohio all set up just like the guy wanted it.

Re: Bench programming alltrax
Good point. I guess I figured everyone had at least one laptop. Surely not so. Sorry.

Re: Bench programming alltrax
Here is something every body should know before upgrading a shop computer...... Windows 7 64bit does not support the Alltrax programming program. And there are no 64bit drivers for the radio shack series>usb cable either So I had to retain my old XP system to program controllers
