Click Click - will not move !
97 36V TXT.. (aka another money pit)
Sounds like a solinoid click or knock when I apply the foot pedal.. With each foot press, I get a loud click comming from the enclosed case I am pointing to in the picture.. I can feel the knock so I am pretty sure its coming from under this cover.. Just returned to home today, cart is at vacation home 300 miles away. What parts will I need to take back with me to get rolling again.. I am only mechanically inclined enough to change parts that someone tells me are bad.. Thanks for the help.. *** By the way, I ordered one of the "used" tire & wheel sets off Ebay for about 100 bucks.... they have not showed up.. Got a phone call with some excuses.. Told me he would call me back.. Did not get the call.. So I am still with teh 22" tires... On a good note, we did make it up the hill with the 36.5V.. TWO of us.. Barely, but we make it... The little diameter tires should do the trick getting up that hill easier. ( once I get the click no go resolved) |

Re: Click Click - will not move !
Your supposed to be hearing a click, thats the solenoid....BUT, just because it clicks doesn't mean its good. Your going to have to do some diagnostics on it before anyone can really tell you what to try and fix or replace. A volt meter comes in handy.
Start by checking all the connections real good. Take a volt meter with you. |

Re: Click Click - will not move !
My assumption was the click was a bad thing.. Figures it would not be that easy for a first timer.. Where would i get the instructions on what & how to perform my diagnosis. Oh this is going to be an ordeal explaining this to me.. Sorry, but I really cant afford to take it in to a shop right now.. Apprecheaite any help possible.. Bill

Re: Click Click - will not move !
Best advice we can give you at the moment is to download the service manual and print it off and take it with you. Take a volt meter with you if you have one. Check ALL the connections....might loosen them and re-tighten. That may be all it is....could be something else. A lot of times if they were running, your gone and come back and it dont run its just a connection. Wiggle the F/R back and forth while pressing on the pedal. If it jumps the contacts are oxidized over or bad....sometimes they'll start working. Check the total pack voltage. Those are just simple things.
Heres the service manual. Right click, save as. http://products.jacobsen.com/img/manuals/28646.pdf Yea....solenoid is supposed to click....but again, just because it clicks doesn't mean its good. If the solenoid has gotten really LOuD and this started I would inspect it. The bolts holding that cover on may be a bear to get out....mine usually break, not all but most. |

Re: Click Click - will not move !
I would start by giving each cable a good tug and twist to see if one of those OEM cables have bit the dust. Be sure to check the four cables going to the motor.

PDS started around 2000 and DCS ended at this time. PDS is a much improved version of DCS. DCS and PDS carts are Sepex systems and are not compatable with Series systems. You have a Series cart. |

Re: Click Click - will not move !
They use that manual to cover most all the TXT style fleet carts. It was printed in 01 so it has the PDS stuff. The series carts are the same.
