96 ezgo medalist with bumpy ride
Have a stock cart used for running around our neighborhood. I have a ride problem that feels like an out of round tire.
I have jacked up the front and the back to check for out of round tires and after replacing one front tire, feel like all of my tires are in decent shape (as far as not being out of round). The feeling really seems to come from the drivers side rear of the cart. I swapped the rear tires (left to right) without improvement. Tire pressure is fine all of the way around/ I'd appreciate any suggestions on other items to check. I have the service manual and have done some maintenance and repairs on the cart over the last few year but overall, the cart runs fine (but a little slow!). |

Re: 96 ezgo medalist with bumpy ride
I am sure you have checked, but make sure all the bolts are tight, can you make any of the wheels wobble while you have the cart on jack stands by grabbing the wheels? Also check your spindles to make sure they are tight on the front axle, I have seen these come loose over time, especially if the cotter pin in no longer in place.

Thanks for the reply but the wheels don't wobble and I have no bearing noise from the front or back.

Re: 96 ezgo medalist with bumpy ride
stock "golf" tires are not exactly the best in the world. I have had many issues in the past with stock tires and wheels. Everything from a tire that had been molded wrong (too much rubber on one part of the mold) to a rim that had a slight oval to it (not visible to the eye but found when the wheel was set on a lathe). If you want a smooth ride, I would suggest visiting a sponsor of the site and ordering a set of custom aluminum wheels and low profile tires.
