Default Silly controller question

Ok, I searched because I know it was talked about before. I finally got around to upgrading my controller, the old stock controller has an A2 tab or 4 tabs. the new one I got only has 3 tabs, the A2 tab is gone. Where does my A2 wire go to ? I think someone had said it goes directly to the motor, but where ? A2 ? or do I double up on one of the other tabs (M-, B+, B-) Don't want to fry anything. This is for a Series motor cart.

thanks for the help

just take that wire off. It goes to the f-n-r switch. That wire is not needed.

Depending on the model of the cart, the A2 wire will run from the F&R to the controller and the Controller to the motor (this is on the Marathon model) OR it will run from the F&R to the motor and from the F&R to the controller (this is on the TXT model)

If you have a TXT, just remove the wire from the F&R to the controller.
If you have a Marathon, you MAY have to replace the wire, but the end result you want is the wire running from the F&R directly to the motor.

Ok, the wire that would go to the A2 on the controller is coming from the bottom lug on the FnR. The cart is actually a funky melex but it matches up with a Marathon. attached is a diagram that matches up with what is existing.
From what I can tell, their is a wire running from the A2 lug on the FnR to the A2 on the motor. so maybe i can just remove.
any thought ?
thanks

ok, I just took the wire off, the cart runs, but I can't tell much difference. I would have thought going from a stock 275 amp controller to a 700 amp controller I would see some difference. It is still dog going up hill. could the solenoid be my problem or I just got it wired wrong ?

Did you purchase a heavy duty solenoid when you purchased the controller? Did you upgrade your motor?

No, just upgraded the FnR. Solenoid looked pretty beefy. I'm trying to make my way to 48v so did not want to buy another solenoid till i made the jump to 48v, but may have too change it. The solenoid seems to handle the new controller, I figured if it could not it would burn out on the first run. No real heat issues after running. The first battery cable, the + that goes to the solenoid does run a little hot, but the solenoid and controller are still cool.

What size wires are you running? 2ga? Your factory motor is probably not liking the increase in amps.

running 2ga to the motor, and 4ga on batteries and controller. Still building the 2ga for the batteries, did not think I needed 2ga till I went 48v. It could be a case of over expectation :-)
