Fitting a set of flares - anybody have good tips or advice thanks

I am fitting a set of flares to my TXT, The flares came with no instructions (go figure) and while I know it is a drill and bolt job, does anybody have any good tips or advice before I start or maybe some pictures would help, thanks

Which brand did you get? Basically you want to just hold them up so you can see how they go on, I have yet to put on a pair that matches the body lines exactly. With that said once you know how and where they are going just drill one hole at a time to make sure they are where you want. The back ones are the hardest IMO to mount, I usually do the first one, closest to the front then do one towards the back, while installing the screw and nut along the way to keep it straight. Hope this helps.

And make sure your starting point and ending points are the same on both sides, especially at the back so when you look at it from the rear, you don't see one flare an inch or so lower on one side. Good luck. It's easy. Just take your time.

I started @ one end and worked my way to the other end.

I put mine on, later decided to put on brush guard. I had to remove,adjust, and reinstall flares.PITA. If you plan on putting on a brush guard, do it first.

Do the flares fit on the flat "lip" part of the fender? Or farther up on the fender? I just keep dry fitting to find a good medium. Have not drilled holes yet.

When I did mine, there was a smallish "step" on the body panel that I matched up with the step in the flare. Beyond that, I just aligned the bottom edge of the body with the bottom of the flare(inside near the body, not the outside edge).

Where in central PA are you located? I'm in the Harrisburg/York area. I'd be willing to lend a hand if you're interested.

Buy some double sided sticky tape to test
fit.

Now thats a good ideaI never thought of that, I usually start on one end and work my way to the other.

Ok, well thanks to some wise words from gorno I gave it a go finished the back and here are some pictures

I used stainless steel hex head bolts.
I just used a small screw and put one at the rear end of the flare, then I put a screw in the middle at the top and then a screw at the very front, made sure it looked right and then started drilling, pretty easy in the end. Front flares tomorrow
