Upgrading for Speed
I have an 01 EzGo txt non DCS system. I just lifted it and it is very slow especially uphill. I am new to the cart frenzy. So how can I make this baby run without hesitation uphill as well? I assume controller and Motor but there are tons of options. Also they are not clear on what kind of increase in speed you will get either.

Re: Upgrading for Speed
We upgrade alot of our lifted EZGO's to a 2 speed motor - It's awesome and about 1/2 the price of a motor / controller upgrade. Torque mode at 18 mph and High Speed mode at 24 mph. You should also upgrade to 4 guage wires...

Re: Upgrading for Speed
I have not seen these yet. Where can I find them and how much $$$. Also what is required with switching between the 2 speeds?

Re: Upgrading for Speed
Kits come complete with 2 speed motor and switch kit. Wires are color coded - ANYONE can instal this system. The best part is no high amnperage that will eventually burn up, as in most controller / motor upgrades.

Re: Upgrading for Speed
Welcome to the BGW site. Contact site sponser Electrical Motor Products or Mikes motor toys for a price quote. You also have the option of upgrading to 48 volts for 30% more power & speed......good luck.

Re: Upgrading for Speed
30% by going to 48v. So what is the % by going to the two speed motor? I guess Im asking what is the best bang for the buck? Thanks, glad I found this place. Looks like theirs lots to learn. Since Im planning on lifting my cart I want to know what Im getting into and what my options are.
