Question txt rearend/motor whine

I am looking at a cart for sale and I think it is a 1996 TXT. It has a very noticable whine while under power. I'm not sure if its a rearend whine or its coming from the motor itself. Its a higher pitch whine vs a lower type roar. Can anyone help me on this?

Some of the older TXT's had a whine to them. I don't know why, but it is always easy to spot an older TXT under power. Now, this may or may not be normal - The problem could be the motor bearings? If it is only a whine, then the cart may be OK, if it sounds like a grinding sound, then look for another ride, unless the price is too good to pass up. This is a really hard one to answer without actually seeing the cart. Lokk the cart over, see if there is excess oil around the differential. Used carts are used carts - a 1996 is 12 years old, but very easy to work on and upgrade...

thanks, it turns out it is a 1994 model. It does not have a grinding sound just a whine. if it is only a bearing in the motor that does sound too hard to replace. thanks!
