wire ends
i am making new cables and i have cooper and alum. ends should i get more cooper ends or can i use the alum. ends

Doesn't make a huge difference. The conductivity is irrelevant but copper is less prone to thermal expansion. Make sure they have a 5/16" hole and are properly crimped on. If you like, you can also solder after you crimp.

I have never seen aluminum wire terminals, Are you sure they are not tined copper?Take a knife and scratch the edge of one and make sure they are not tin clad copper,if they are they are excellent to use.

Nice catch Aircat. You are probably right about the lugs. If you have two different metals, you have to use Penetrox. It prevents the corrosion that happens when two dissimalar metals come in contact with each other. But I am thinking that it is tinned copper. Good luck. Penetrox is a graphite colored paste.

You are exactly right. Would not hurt anything. It also serves as an anti-sieze agent.
