Talking Newly acquired cart....Update

I started a post earlier concerning the necessary upgrades I will need to make to our cart. Lets try this again since I have all the necessary info

The cart is a '99 TXT straight from the course. I know someone mentioned re-wiring but what else is there to do to get it ready for hunting?

We'll mainly use it at our ranch which consists of semi-maintained dirt roads with the occasional minor off-roading. I would like for it to be able to support 3 or 4 passengers with no problems.

Moneywill be an issue, sort of. I will not be making all these additions at one time rather be making them as my schedule and bank account allows.

I look forward to being on this site as I take on this new project.

Thanks guys

since money is an issue, start with the important parts first.

1. Upgrade all power wires to 4 Gauge

from there you have to decide on a number of factors.

Leave the cart 36 volt or go to 48?
Stationary rear seat of Flip seat?
Lift cart or leave stock height?

I plan on changing the wires out for sure. Then hopefully a lift and tires.

keep in mind the lift and tires are going to put a strain on the stock motor/controller. Personally I would advise getting your power up to snuff first.

Lift kits demand more torque to drive the tires. With stock components in the cart, there is a bottleneck in delivering the required torque. That 99 TXT you have came stock with a 2 HP motor and a 275 amp controller. While they WILL turn the wheels on a lifted cart, you will be operating them at their maximum output and therefore will fry them quickly. I would suggest a 500AMP (or bigger) controller and a nice torque motor (as well as 4 guage wires, a 400 AMP solenoid, and a beefed up F&R assembly). I recently purchased a motor from PlumQuick and I must say I am VERY impressed with it.

If you need parts, shoot me a PM and I am sure I can assist you.
