my 1990 ez-go lights stopped working today after i tried to fix the rear light. All of the lights went out but the golf cart still works. it is an electric golf cart. what might have caused this

Sounds like you burnt a fuse ~ check the lights power source at the batteries...... likely there is an inline fuse holder there somewhere?

there is a yellow tube this that might be the fuse, do i just pull apart the ends and replace the fuse inside or is it more complicated. See because i was attempting to reconnect the tail light wires and i think i might have short circuited it somewhere and im thinking that cause the problem. Also i read something about grounding the wires going to the lights or something, because rather stupidly on my part i was pulling on the wire and i thought i might have pulled something loose but i check all of the light wires and i didnt find anything abnormal. Do you think this might just be the fuse or something about the grounding of the wires? also is the yellow tube next to the light switch the fuse?

This is going to sound stupid, but check the light bulbs.

Pulling on wires in the cart is never a good idea... you can do unseen damage such as pulling a connection apart or worse stripping a wire and grounding out a hot lead. The fuse is in the holder, pull or twist the holder open and take the fuse to an automotive store to match it up with a replacement. Always buy more than 1.

What if you can't get the holder open?
