Default Will this alternative radio/stereo plan work?

I have an ihome i rarely use at home. Here it is:
IMG00034-20101028-1956.jpg
The base (clock radio) has "right speaker" and "left speaker" outputs that connect to the two speakers via auxiliary cables. The sub woofer connects to the base via what appears to be a VGA cable. This might not be what this cable is but it sure looks like one. Anyways, the sub woofer has a separate power cord leading out from it which plugs into the wall. The power is transferred to the base via the VGA (or what ever it is). I guess the vga doubles as the power transfer cable and the audio transfer cable from the base to the subwoofer. Here are the specs listed on the bottom of the sub:
subspecs.jpg
I guess these refer to the whole setup since the power is run through the sub woofer and then to the base/speakers. Anyways i plan to plug the power cord from the ihome into this power inverter i used to plug my playstation in the car when i was little:

The inverter has a fuse on it if this matters at all:

It has a "30" on the back spine of it. The inverter will plug into this 12v cigar lighter/charger outlet i just bought from radio shack:

This outlet will be wired to a fuse block, and that will be wired to my 12v deep cycle auxiliary battery.
Does this plan appear to be successful?

It could work, the fuse block you are going to wire this too, the fuse is going to need to be large enough for the amount of amps required by the inverter, also since you have used this setup before, just make sure the inverter has enough power to supply the current needed for the ihome. I am guessing you have not hooked all this up and used in your vehicle, check those things and you should be good to go.

Also, the outlet positive wire has a black tube in the pictures. If I'm not mistaken that should be a fuse. Try to unscrew it and it may be a fuse.

Where in the world are you gonna mount all this hardware?

Test it first before you start drilling holes and cutting wires.

Yeah i realize it is a lot of hardware, but i didn't have to buy anything but the battery and 12v outlet. Anyway, i bought a marine battery and it works great. hooked everything up to test and it seems to be fine. Nothing feels too hot or anything. IMG00064-20101101-1958.jpg

I sure hope that battery was SPOTLESS before it was placed on that carpeting, or there is gonna be one less cart guy in the world in a few days when the acid turns the carpet pink and it crumbles under it's own weight.

Well, I haven't ruined any carpeting, but I did lose a pair of blue jeans and a shop towel 2 weeks ago. Only took a few hours for the acid to do it's dirty deed, LOL!
