Welcome to BGW!

The "speed chips" are only avaialable for the PDS style drive system. Your 2001 cart MAY be a PDS if it has the F/R rocker switch on the dash by the key and a RUN/TOW toggle switch on the controller cover.

If your F/R switch is between the seats under your legs and it has a long steel bar running to a box under the passenger seat, your cart is non-DCS/PDS and is a SERIES system. SERIES carts cannot use a speed chip.

If you ask your cart nicely it will tell you what chip is in it now..........
That way you won't buy something you already have

Have you run diagnostic mode to find what chip you currently have installed?

If you decide to buy the speed chip, once it is installed, it is a good idea to but certainly not required to run diagnostics which will "program" the controller to the new chip. I do it every time.
