Need some advice on a lift
I now have a 1995 EZGO Metalist electric. I'm looking at either a 5" lift with 23's or a 7" lift with 25"s. What difference is there as far as wear and tear on the motor and cart with the bigger tires? Being new to carts I don't understand that part yet. I know with trucks larger tires can be offsett with lower gears to take the strain off of the motor and tranny. Any help or opinions are appreciated in advance.

Re: Need some advice on a lift
The motors hold up ok. As far as gears, yes you can get higher ratio gears but you really dont need them any bigger tire then you might. 4 gauge cables and a higher amp controller will help get back the low end torque. Upgraded cables are going to be a minimum. If you were to get a high rpm motor then yes, get higher ratio gears IMO.

So i'm figuring the 5" lift and the 23 inch tires might be fine then. Not really looking to make it any faster since I have twin boys

Re: Need some advice on a lift
It'll probly be ok but do the cables at least. The next baby step up would be a 400 amp controller. Controller alone is't going to make it any faster, it'll just help pull the larger tires.
