Going to TOFTT on this 48 volt charger
Unless someone tells me, in the next 24 hours, that this charger is junk I am going to make the purchase. Looks too good to be true.
I will report when I get it and when I convert my PDS to 48 volts. Should be about three weeks until completion. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OnBoa...item255ec5ca19 Last edited by Butch5220; 11-08-2010 at 07:48 PM.. Reason: link did not work |

Re: Going to TOFTT on this 48 volt charger
Is it rated for heavy dirt, vibration, high temps and some water?
I don't recall anybody reviewing one of those before...... let us know how it works. |

I don't see the word Waterproof anywhere. To me, that would be very important for an onboard unit. Specs look fine, might be a great value if used as a standalone unit instead of onboard.

scottyb or gman my stand alone charger Lestronic II puts out a lot of heat. This onboard doesn't get Hot? I don't see a heat sink.

Re: Going to TOFTT on this 48 volt charger
Unit only weighs 6 pounds, so it is not a traditional transformer style charger. Not a lot of heat with this kind of unit, and should be completely silent too.

Re: Going to TOFTT on this 48 volt charger
Thanks to all for the help. Did not get any bad responses so I placed the order.
When I get the unit I will post on what came in the package. BTW: It is suppose to be water resistent not waterproof. Can't submerge it. With my stock PDS cart and speed chip the GPS speed at Orange county speedway in North Carolina was 18 MPH for two laps. I have not checked the speed since the Alltrax 400 and 4 guage wires were added. May do that before I do the 48 volt upgrade. Will report when done. |

Re: Going to TOFTT on this 48 volt charger
A higher amp controller on a Sepex cart will add a few MPH to the cart.
