Alltrax Programming Question
I will be programming an Alltrax DCX400 soon. I have the Serial-USB cable and the software, but I do not have the 18v power source. Trying to find instructions on how to make one with two-9v batteries, but cannot find any. Anyway, my questions are these. How do I turn on the Turbo for my controller? I was looking through the controller software and was unable to find anything called "Turbo." Am I looking hard enough?
2. I read through the Alltrax programming guide multiple times, but I still do not understand what "High Pedal Disable" is. Do I want it checked or un-checked? I am looking for maximum speed, so will this effect it? Thanks for the help! And if any instructions for making the power source are found, please share them! Thanks much. Dustin |

Kid
When you first connect to your controller, you should be at the tab control panel, it is on that page in the squared box, check the box labeled Turbo.. |

Re: Alltrax Programming Question
Thanks LH. I was just coming back to my computer to edit that post. I found the turbo part just now. I had an older version of build I think. Thanks for the help!

Re: Alltrax Programming Question
You want High Pedal Disable checked ON. If I remember right, it prevents the cart from taking off at full speed if the gas pedal is floored before the key is turned on. It's a smart safety thing.

Re: Alltrax Programming Question
Thanks G. I am working on building a 9 volt setup for the programming. Can I leave the controller in the cart while I am programming it? Also, do I HAVE to use 18 volts? Or can I use the carts 36v power? I read somewhere that you can leave the controller connected as normal, and just plug in your serial cable and program it. Is this true?

Re: Alltrax Programming Question
The cart can be completely wired and working, and you can program the controller in the cart, but it's easier to do it before you install. Scottyb has a great pic and guide posted here somewhere. It's worth searching for.

Re: Alltrax Programming Question
Thanks so much Gorno. That helped a lot. Just to confirm, I don't have to disconnect any wires from controller, just plug in serial cable, and turn the key switch on to power up the controller? Is this correct?

Re: Alltrax Programming Question
Yes, you can leave everything hooked up in the car and simply plug into the controller. You will have to "activate" the controller by barely pressing the accelerator pedal.

Re: Alltrax Programming Question
Dustin the green light on the controller MUST be on before you open the alltrax program. If not you will generate an error message. Good luck and be careful.
3 to 5 on the throttle is fine and easier on the differential gears and hub splines than 7. Turn the plug brake to 0. Email sent .... |
