Cart set up?
Ok so after lots of reading I think I'm on the right track. I have a 97 ez go txt 36v that is stock. I am going to lift it 4" and put on 22" tires on 8" off set rims. I want it to plow snow and be able to climb hills. Speed is not a issue, if it only goes 12mph I will be happy. I will upgrade the controller to a 400 amp (I'm thinking alltrax programmable???), upgrade the solenoid to an hd, and new 4g wires. Do I need to upgrade the F/R switch? Will this be enough torque? Or will I have to upgrade the motor? Any suggestions?

Welcome to BGW!
Is this a Series, PDS, or DCS cart? Do you help finding that out? |

Re: Cart set up?
If it is a Series cart the back side of the F&R lever will have a linkage rod connected the actual F&R switch mounted on the floor under the passenger seat....

Re: Cart set up?
Pushing snow is about the hardest thing you can do on an electric cart... you are creating unnatural resistance. It is going to create alot of heat in the motor etc. I think it's a rough idea.... but if you want to do it I suggest a built for torque motor over-volted on a big controller and cables and yes to the F&R but maybe better with a solenoid switching set up?

Re: Cart set up?
Ok so maybe Ill drop the pushing snow idea..What controller should I get if i want to keep the stock motor and do I need to upgrade the F / R switch and solenoind? The motor in it is Part #73124G02 and A95 4005A, volt 35.0, rating AV2500 fleet speed.

Re: Cart set up?
You can use a 400 AMP controller, yes, you need to upgrade the F&R/Solenoid/battery cables. If you went to the 500 AMP, you would need to dial back the output to 80%.
If you want to push snow with it, upgrade to the 500 AMP (or even a 700AMP) go with 2 gauge wires, use a solenoid activated F&R and have PlumQuick rewind the motor you have for max torque. Upgrading to 48 volt wouldn't hurt either. |
