Are micro switches really necessary?
I have a 85 E Z go,resistor cart,does I really need the microswitches?
I have it straight wired now and it runs fine! Help,I want it to be safe... |

I am speaking about the ones on the FR lever,I was told one is for the R buzzer only?the one on the wiper board is still there and working o/k....

There function is to prohibit the cart from accidentally taking off. By having a series of safety switches you have to really mean to go ... to go
 By eliminating one you just have a 30% greater chance that your cart will accidentally take off and be involved in some sort of accident.... or in a lake |

The other purpose of the micro switches on the F/R switch is to prevent switching directions with the F/R switch under load. As soon as you move the lever a bit, the micro switch drops the solenoid switch, disconnecting the power. When the F/R switch is fully in the 'other' direction, the micro switch allows the solenoid to pick up, energizing the circuit. The F/R switch isn't really meant to switch under load. The solenoid IS meant to handle the load switching.

so,do I need to install both micros back on?,when I bought cart the FR micros were there but no wires attached,I know there are some wiring diagrams on here,but I have trouble figuring out what wire would go where....Thanks for all your help!
