2004 PDS Wheel hubs
Can these hubs be "turned" .....I am replacing the brake shoes and thought that having them turned would be a good idea.
Thanks for any responses |

Re: 2004 PDS Wheel hubs
I have yet to find a machine shop willing to attempt it.

Re: 2004 PDS Wheel hubs
i scuff them up with a 3m scotch bright pad or 320 grit sand paper.
If they are grooved than i replace them. |

Re: 2004 PDS Wheel hubs
finding a shop to turn them was one of my issues as well....looks like I should just get new ones and forget about it.
Thanks for the replies! |

Re: 2004 PDS Wheel hubs
Whatever you do, when you install them torque them to 100 lb ft at least, and do not back off to fit the cotter pin.

Re: 2004 PDS Wheel hubs
They are cheap enough = just replace them.
FYI - Import drums are not the same quality as OEM drums - just saying... |

Re: 2004 PDS Wheel hubs
They strip out easier too
Be sure to torque the castle nuts back down to 70-140 Ft pounds, never back the nut off to insert the cotter pin. |
