Need Opinion Marathon upgrade
Daughters marathon has no power and almost stops on small grades, looking at a package deal from Redhawk, motor is Admiral 8.0 peak hp,400 amp Alltrax AXE,200 Amp solenoid, resistor, and diode.Cart has 4ga and new batt pac..If amps are tork and volts are speed in my mind the controller alone would improve the grade problem,Opinions please..Thanx Dave

Re: Need Opinion Marathon upgrade
Did you test your controller ? I would invest in a controller one that does 36v and 48v. If you still want more, go to 48v. The last thing would be the motor. Just my opinion. 48v will give you tork and speed.
good luck joe |

Re: Need Opinion Marathon upgrade
davet, assuming the motor brushes etc are in reasonably good shape you are correct... you will gain torque with a controller only upgrade... torque is increased with more amperage getting to the motor. I assume you will uprade the cables and F&R as well?

Re: Need Opinion Marathon upgrade
Stardog, the alltrax is either 36 or 48,thought about going 48v and if it were my cart I would but then there is the charger issue and the batts are new.Don't want to haul around 2 more batts,we'll see how this goes and I'll post results, better be done this week.Dave
