Default EZ GO Electric that will not charge.

Hi, This is my first cart and my first post. I have a 95 (i think) EZ GO electric that will not charge. When I got it out this weekend after a long winter I tried to charge it but the charger would not kick on after i plugged it in. I was told by a friend with a cart to clean all the battery connections. When trying to unscrew the first wingnut I broke off the bolt that the wire connects to. I was able to retap and reconnect the cable but now all it does is Beep, Beep, Beep. I figure it is a alarm for something I have done wrong I just don't know what. Also, it still will not charge. If anyone has any knowledge that would help, I would be greatful.

The batteries have to have at least 28 volts (it varies) before the charger will kick on. You can charge 2 at a time with a 12 volt auto charger to get them up enough for the auto golf cart charger to kick on. Make sure the plates have about 1/4 of distilled water above the plates before charging. After fully charging you can top them off.

There should be a decal on the cover of your controller that shows the beep codes.

Just something to try.

To enter diagnostic mode
1 Turn key switch to 'OFF'
2 Move 'RUN/TOW MAINTENANCE' switch to 'RUN'.
3 Move direction selector switch from neutral position to 'REV' position five (5) times
4 After a confirming beep(s) sounds, the diagnostic fault code will sound when a fault is detected.
5 To exit diagnostic mode: Select 'TOW MAINTENANCE' position.

Right side under the seat. Look for a black box/cover with a decal.

I am having the exact problem as Baxter9310... the charger will not activate. I have checked the charger on a friends cart and it works... I have charged the batteries singularly by a separate charger and they are holding a charge..... the cart does beep when I put it into reverse but it will not move in either forward or reverse... any thoughts as to what it might be... I really appreciate finding this site and appreciate any assistance
One last note the cart had not been used in at least 20 months due to illness...
again thanks in advance
