Cool Stripped golf cart axle

Well, I took off the bolt to get my brakes fixed, but the bolt stripped my axel... My father said to use a tap and die kit, but then the key in the shaft might not work, and the washer that holds the brakes on might not fit the new bolt size, AND strength mught be comprimised!!!

WHAT SHOULD, WHAT CAN, I DO???

Tap and Die, or...

HELP ME!!!

if i'm thinking right about this, you should be able to buy another axle fairly cheap.

You might try somthing called a Helicoil. it is the best way to keep the same size bolt and is just as strong.

Buy another axel? I have a late 70s pre-medalist, is there even one available, plus, I really don't have any money to spare... I'll look into it...

I looked at that helicoil online and it didn't look like it would work, thanks for the suggestion though!!!

That is the question which crossed my mind too........ What bolt? ......

I'd call around to different cart shops, those carts are fairly common and most are only good for parts now.
