Default 1994 Ezgo Medalist

I got bought a used EZGO and from the serial # believe it's a '94. The owner said it worked but needed new batteries. I've since replaced the batteries, connected the charger and it charged until it automatically shut off. But the cart won't move in forward or reverse. I don't hear a click noise, but if I leave the switch in reverse for a little while it will start to beep. Any ideas on how to proceed? Anyone know where I can find a manual (pdf version) online for this year cart?

Thanks. I'm assuming I have the DCS model since I don't see a toggle switch coming out of what I believe to be the controller area (where the solenoid is). Can you use the newer guide (2001) to troubleshoot a 1994 model and just follow the wiring chart for the DCS model in its place?

You should have a series style cart. Post the serial number and model and someone can run the number and tell you exactly what year.

Cool Re: 1994 Ezgo Medalist

Get a multimeter and carefully test the resistance in your circiuts, along with the voltage each battery is putting out!!!

OK the serial or model # is 11M94. The buzzer actually goes off as soon as you put the shifter into reverse. So far now I've tried going directly from the batteries to the solenoid, but still no luck. I don't have an electronic voltage meter, so until I get one of those I can't truly troubleshoot. Any suggestions on where and what to pick up?

Any parts store, big box store, or hardware store will have meters from cheap to very expensive. I think you can get a fairly decent digital meter from any large parts store for under $50.

Pull up on an electrician job and you will get run off if you use one of those $5 meters. A $5 multimeter may be just fine for working on carts but there are far better ones depending on how much money you spend. Mine has a thermo coupler, does yours?

Now...get back on topic.
