Default 1988 EZGO, time to upgrade?

OK broke a rear leaf spring on my 88 EZGO, easy answer is put a new springs on the cart, but it's getting old and it's hard to find other parts and upgrade stuff for it.

i found a 2002 stripy Yamaha for 500 bucks that needs batteries but don't have experience with a controller. I could just swap my batteries and test it out i guess.

So what to do, time to upgrade to a newer cart? what would you do? Yamaha a good cart?

I made the jump from my 88 to a controller cart. I would have kept it..if it had better brakes. How old are your batteries ? Depending on the condition of the Yamaha, that does not sound like a bad deal and would be a quick way to get back up and running. The newer cart will give you many more upgrade options than the 88. It all depends on what you do with it. If and this is a big if..if it were me, fix the 88 and sell it and buy the Yamaha...or a newer ezgo.

batteries are about 18 month on my cart and the Yamaha batteries have a 06/07 sticker and are dead.

thinking now about maybe finding some heavy springs for the EZGO and try to find a little dump bed for it and still get the Yamaha for running around. Looks like i can beef up the suspension on the Yamaha much easier than on the EZGO.

If you can have both, go for it. My wife has one cart rule. so if I pick another cart up, I got a time line to get rid of one. When I bring home project cart, my kids try to convince her to let us keep both. one day it will work

well i ended up with a Hyundai/Yamaha today with a jakes lift kit, have no idea how old it is, can't find a plate on it but the lift, wheels and tires are worth what i paid, may still pick up the 2002 this week, put together what i can and sell the rest.

Were can I find a 6in lift kit for a 88 ezgo? If there is one. And if I have to get a 4in lift do I have to change my springs and shokes?
