Default Battery Question

I know it may take a few charge/discharge cycles to see the full perfomance capacity from a new set of batteries, but I just installed a new set of 6 Trojan T-105's on Friday (1/21/11), charged em up, charger shut of as it should once the pack reached capacity. Later on Saturday I realized the charger kicking on and off more than I thought it should prompting me to start taking voltage readings.

I took a reading a few hours after the completed charge and found that the #1battery in the pack was down to 4.4 volts when all the rest were at 6.5 volts. Is this a sign of a bad battery?, or is it not equalizing? Should I put it elsewhere in the pack to see if results change?, or should I exchange it with the supplier?
I'm kind of upset that I just layed out $750 for new batteries and am having issues already.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Default Re: Battery Question

I am no expert, but that does not sound good to me. I am sure you checked your connections after the install. I would check for a bad cell if connections check out.

If no bad cell found, I think I would run it and then try charging again and see if there is any change. They should stand behind the battery for a while (long enough to give it another chance).
