Default Buying Batteries

I am buying batteries tommorow,,, What controller do I need for the most torque,since this is going to be a hunting buggy. I want to upgrade to 48 volts.I have a bone stock 36v 95 ez-go?

Get at least a 400 amp controller. If your planning on buying a high torque motor get the highest amp controller you can afford. Alltrax makes very nice controllers. Most, if not all of our sponsors carry Alltrax controllers as well as some other brands.

I wasn't planning on buying a new motor.Do I have to if I buy the 4oo amp controller?

No, stock motors can't utilize more amps than around 400 so a bigger controller won't do much good.

It is a Curtis controller in it now.I was told it is a 275 amp,,is this correct? I was also told by going to 48 volts and a 400 amp controller will make a huge difference.

Yes it is a curtis 275 amp controller. And yes...48 volts alone will give you around 20-25% more power along with being a little bit more efficiant.
