Default Controller Firewall

I fabricated a firewall and installed between the batteries and the controller box. I wanted to try and separate the two areas. May not have much application. I started on a cap but decided I don't really need it as the firewall meets the seat bottom. I welcome your input.

Don't want to kill the controller. I didn't see much difference in the firewall vs the batteries walled up next to the controller. It looks to me that there will be air flow from the other sides. The original controller may not be a comparison, but it was sealed up in the plastic box and the heat sink dispersed the heat. What can I expect form the 500amp AllTrax?

I think the heat is a non-issue.

Great fab job, must have a well equipped shop. That Alltrax controller will put out more heat than a stock one and the mod's will really increase the heat. Just keep an eye on it for a while.

Just because it's snowing and 15 degrees in Chicago that won't help cool things in LA lol

Looks super good to me. The stuff you've fabricated for your cart is top shelf work. Beats me about the heat issue but it sure looks good! Perhaps you could find someone to punch some louvers in it? That would be really cool!!!

I'm jealous of your electrical goodies. Sure wish I could hurry and get enough money saved to get the controller, motor and such for my cart. This would be so much simplier and faster if I had liquid money instead of the good looks.

Seriously, fantastic job on everything you've done so far. It is going to be one killer cart when you get done.

Thanks, TerryH. I enjoy working out back in the shop while my son runs my company in the office up front. He makes me work once in awhile. I like the louver idea. I actually was building the firewall for the other side of the cart for my onboard charger when this idea popped up. If you saw what I took out from the FNR switch would make you want to think of a fix.

We're fixin' to get stomped with the cold weather. It's 22deg at my dad's house just east of Shreveport. It was 75 today and will be 33 in the am. I know, that ain't nothing compared to "Bears" territory weather.
