Angry 96 ezgo elect.oil covering motor,axle

I've got a 96 ezgo with a series motor that has oil covering the bottom half of the motor and axle housing. The leak is above the rear end cover so it is not the cover gasket. Does the motor to the housing connection have a gasket or o-ring? Did previous owners possibly over fill the rearend oil? The only fill plug I see is 3/4 of the way up the pumpkin cover. I am also unsure about which oil to use, I've read 80 - 90 W and also 30 wt. The cart is new to me so any help I can get before I tear into it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

There is an oil seal at the motor input shaft. Put 90W in if needed. While your back there, it would be a good idea to coat the 4 electrical connections with the red battery corrosion stop. Also clean the batteries while things are disconnected. If you have a tow/run switch, make sure it is in the tow position, key switch off, in neutral. Disconnect the + and _ on the passenger side of the car. Remove the 3 bolts, pull the input shaft out, this will pull the seal with it.
