No Forward Or Reverse
(Newbie) I Just Got My First Used EzGo Cart WithOut Keys, The Reverse Horn Comes On?(Can I ByPass The Key/Horn) With Charger. I Put The Cart On The Charger All Last Night, Woke Up To Drive It. No Forwar Or Reverse? Any Ideas Befor I Take It In To The Local Ezgo Tech's.My Licence 175.jpg

It's a 1991 Marathon. And I am not sure I understand your question quite correctly. If you don't have the keys to turn it on, it won't go...

I never needed to use a key, to drive the cart! I charged the cart over night, next morning nothing?So Sorry, Im a Newbie to the Cart World) I'm thinking the Solenoid went bad! Can I bypass the solenoid to see if the Controller and the motor is fine? Thanks so much!(Newbie Gauge)

You never needed a key? Now I am really confused. I have heard of ways to test if the solenoid is good or not. Something about jumper cables. I will search for the thread and post back.

If you never needed a key one of 2 things are happening. 1= sombody bypassed it. 2= the solenoid was fried shut. Which brings about a 3rd possibility to your current problem = the cart won't run = maybe the solenoid is finally hash.
You can jack the rear of the cart up and install a battery cable from one large solenoid terminal to the other large solenoid terminal... and test the cart. Do not operate the cart like this for any more than just a test. Replace with GC solenoid only of the same voltage... and buy a key while you are in the store. They are all the same. GL  |
