Re: Refurbished batteries
any details from this place on what they do to refurbish them.
I know some places will empty them and use a cleaner on the cells then fill them up with new electrolyte. |

Re: Refurbished batteries
I don't think you are gonna find anyone here with experience with "refurbished" batteries (whatever that means). If they don't come with a 2 year warranty (and they won't), don't bother.

Re: Refurbished batteries
Here's the deal A company that refurbishes batteries is basically culling out 2-3 yr old batteries from their junks (cores) and rinsing them, refilling with fresh electrolyte and heavily charging them.... letting them settle and testing... any that still look good usually get flushed and refilled again and heavily recharged ..... Then retested.... if they make it past this point they get sent out with a 30-60 day warranty....
If this was a good option for most of us we would put the new battery companies out of business... Essentially, they are rinsed and recharged used batteries. They have reduced amperage storage and useful life. I have taken 'refurbished' batteries and charged them full. Then after letting them settle for 12 hrs, I have put them on the draw-down machine. 40 minutes was the average run time ~ a new set is about 100 minutes. I hope this helps... |
