transporting cart
Hey all, what would you suggest to transport my stock Club Car Precedent or EZGO PDS? I do not want to use a trailer.
I'm looking into buying a new vehicle primarily for the purpose of transporting my cart. I looked at all the full size trucks: Silverado, F150, Ram, Tundra, and none of them seem like you can just put a golf cart in the bed because the wheel wells. Is a flatbed truck my only option? |

Re: transporting cart
They will fit in a Pick-up with stock tires(or go over the wells with lifted and big tires)My Dad has put them in his Chevy Van before.A short-box will require the tailgate to be down,as the carts are too long for the bed.I would suggest trying to load it backwards if you can,too keep from having too much weight behind the rear axle of the truck. This is not a concern on an 8' box.Hope this helps.

Re: transporting cart
Be careful about loading in your truck though. I can't tell you how many times we've seen it...... everyone is tired from a hard day on the trail, maybe had a few beers. As you drive up the ramp into the truck bed, & over the wheel wells & fail to stop in time before the cart front bumper smashes the rear window of the truck. Ouch.
Not to mention the height of the thing. Seems like you'd find places too low all over town. |

Re: transporting cart
Most full size trucks have 50" between the wheel wells, well usually over 48" (Standard sheet of plywood width). So a standard with cart (There under 48" I think) should fit. Length is an issue. My 1983 EZGO is about 7'6" long if I remember correctly. So you would need an 8' bed unless to intend to leave the tailgate down.

Re: transporting cart
A stock cart will fit in most 1/2 ton short bed trucks with the gate down. If you start adding accessories, obviously sizes will change. My drop axle lifted EZ with 22"s will fit in my 6.5ft bed but my brother's spindle lifted EZ with 23 won't go between the wells and with the back half of the cart still on the ramps we were too chicken to gun it and go over.
Food for thought... |

Re: transporting cart
OK if it wont fit in your truck get a trailer.
It is lower and easier to load that's what I do. .45ACP because shooting twice is sily. |

Re: transporting cart
I agree with bud light, I'd get a trailer unless you want to face this every time you load/unload
If your cart's not lifted you will need long ramps like this: If you get short ramps you face this: |
