Madoc obviously they have changed their terminal location. And obvious yours is connected correctly according to the diagram you received at the time you bought your controller...

Now back to this poor cart solenoid clicks but no go? Progress. tell me where all the F&R cables go to. Refer to them as terminal position 9am goes to motor A2 or ? for all four F&R terminals when viewed from the rear of the cart = 9am,12noon,3pm,6pm.
Post where they all go on your cart.

But hoping the next package upgrade guy sees this..

When someone buys a kit , why don't U do the upgrade in steps.

F&R - then test
2 gauge cables - then test
D&D series motor - then test
Added 2 more 6V batteries - then test
HD 400A 48V solenoid - then test
700A Logisystems controller - then test

This makes life so much simpler ! ( my 2 cent worth )
Makes sense except...once you add the two batteries you gotta do the solenoid and the controller. besides, its more fun the rip everything out and put it back at once.

Superman, when I did my upgrade, I did not look at the wiring diagram from Logisystems. I just wired everything exactly how it was wired from the stock controller. the only diff was I had one less 2ga wire because their was only 3 big studs off the controller instead of 4. Was told their was no need for it. Everything works fine. Looks like you are heading in the right direction. Review your pics prior to taking everything apart.

Thanks Gleemo, beat a guy when he is down and cartless! JK man. That is definitely the ideal way but I haven’t had a chance to work on it until yesterday. I had all these wonderful parts in front of me and then anticipation took over. I wanted to hurry so I could test out my new ride. Plus, I have to work the next two days and can’t mess with the cart.

Scotty, in picture 1 you can see the side of the F/R switch that faces the controller. I can’t remember where the four 2 gauge cables go away from the F/R but I followed the labels on them. I connected them to F/R switch as follows:
6 o’clock=Cable A
9 o’clock=Cable B
12 o’clock=Cable C
3 o’clock=Cable D

In picture 2, continue looking at the F/S as before (the controller at your back) and the small wires are on top. I have a small black wire that comes from the throttle harness and connects to the backup alarm on the front. Now, going from left to right, I have a black wire coming from the key switch harness that connects to the 10 o’clock post on the F/R switch. I have another black wire that connects to the 11 o’clock post on top of the F/R switch that comes from throttle harness. There is not a post connection for the 1 o’clock post. On the 2 o’clock post I have a orange wire connected that comes from the throttle harness.

I did not take a picture of how my new setup is but you can see my old one in picture 2. One of the black wires may be a blue or other darker color but I labeled them and reinstalled them the same way they come off. Sorry for all the overspray red paint also, the previous owner must have REALLY LOVED red.

Thanks for the support Joe. I just know it is something simple and I’m going kick myself when it’s figured out.

Hey Scotty, you had mentioned you are a Protech onboard charger dealer on another thread I had. I can’t get a hold of the guy I bought it from or the company right now so maybe you can help. For the (charger to battery pack connection) there is just a red wire and a black wire. Should there be something else that goes to the F/R switch? It came with an “interlock/inhibit quick disconnect connector plug” but on the other thread you advised I didn’t need it.

Just an idea but, the small red wire that is going from the solenoid to the controller has an added wire in the middle to extend it right? Maybe the connection isn’t good and you’re not getting anything. Why don’t you just replace it with a solid wire? It will help eliminate some possibilities.

That's right you do not need to install the interlock safety device from the protech charger. The charger works fine without it and the cart works fine without it. But what I am concerned about is the carts OLD interlock system. The carts old interlock system supplied power to the F&R micro switches which in turn power up the ignition which turns the controller on!
Do you have power at the micro switches ?

Hey Scotty,
Sorry if I’m ignorant but are the micro switches the small wires at the top of the F/R switch? I can’t check them right now any way. I was actually talking to Libertybellcdr about this today. Although I have the TXT body, I have a medalist EZGO. I’m 99% sure that the old charger just had two wires also. It did not use the charge receptacle under the driver’s seat but, the receptacle was just screwed into the body to plug the charger into. It looked like the one in the picture. I think it is the one that came factory on it. I’ll double check it in the morning.

Athomas03, I followed Logisystems diagram for wiring the small wires. It was not the same order that my other controller had but………it’s their controller. As for the F/R switch, it is actually not hooked up. I’m about to paint the exterior and have everything off right now. I just manually moved it from F to R and can hear it click.

Scottyb, I have the protech onboard charger that is hooked up on the pack near the controller. It has a black and red wire that can be seen in pic 3. The solenoid is not making any noise, but the resister did get really hot earlier when I was tinkering with it.

FYI- my friend that was helping finally admitted that the wires did spark when he was hooking it up. He said he accidently touch a positive to another positive.
With the F/R, even if you don't have the rod connected you can play with turning the switch with a pair of pliers. If the connection isn't made inside the switch, no go. That may not be your problem but, my cart did this after installing the HD F/R.
