First I don't see any one teaming up on you Just some things you need to be telling these people to get your cart fixed THAT your not telling them, hey good luck on your cart, and you only have 68 post trying to help you get this cart running, so I don't know where you came up with this,-- (I thought this site was to assist and help new golf cart owners with questions? Not ridicule them!)

Yes, wrong terminology when I said the bolt was "spinning". I should have elaborated more but I was eating dinner and it was just a quick reply. No reason to mock me!

The bolt was not actually spinning. There was a little play in it but I was able to get it to set. As for the 48v on a 36v stock controller, I have personally seen it done! Maybe he has a magic controller? Idk. I was just going to build my cart (again) step by step and try to eliminate the problem from before.

I'm not an expert and I didn't even own a cart until a month ago. This has been a huge learning process and I'm still learning. Help would be more appreciated than comments like "WTH" and mocking me about the spinning bolt. If you're not clear about something I've posted, I would be more than happy to explain it more.

yup. He an Tonto took molecular biology together, it's how they met.

hang in there superman, I get where you felt teamed up on, but it's your frustration talking. Once you get it figured out, you'll feel better about it. Not only that but hopefully I will learn a common pitfall in the process and be able to avoid in in my one 95 medalist conversion.

carry on

Alright guys, at this point, I am all out of ideas. ANY thoughts, ideas, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Recap:
Stock 36V EZGO-runs good
Added 48v to the system- no run-solenoid clicks-retuned to stock 36V

Added 2 gauge cables=36V-yes/48V-no
Added HD F/R switch= 36V-yes/48V-no
Added New D&D 4:1 high torque motor=36V-yes/48V-no
Added HD 400A 48V solenoid=36V-yes/48V-no
(*At this point the only possibility is the controller right?*)
Added LGS 700A controller=36V-no/48V-no
(*I tried about every possible solution with the small wires. I initially installed according to LGS’s diagram. I then installed them according to MAdoc1’s old diagram, thanks bud. I then installed them the way they were on my original controller.*)

I rechecked all the wiring and there are not any loose connections. At this point, with the information above, the only solution I can figure is……the old controller cannot function under 48V and I have a bad LGS controller, right………but.

I took some Voltage readings and this is what I have:
New Motor with new lgs controller 36V= S2 and A2-19.2V S1 and A1-25V
New Motor with new lgs controller 48V= S2 and A2-25V S1 ans A1-38V

-So….I’m getting power to the motor….but the only thing happening is the solenoid clicks?
-I’ve tried contacting LGS but evidently they are closed after 1 on Friday and all day Saturday?
-I have exhausted all my ideas so any ideas someone else has I will be willing to try? I’m about to the point of selling all this S#%$, cutting my losses, and returning to the trusty ole 4-wheeler.

Where did you buy the cable set? And can you post the instruction or directions that came with them?

Hey Scotty,
I got the wire kit from ECC, a BGW sponsor. I figured their labeling was correct and trusted them so I havenít second guessed it. There were not any instructions, just labeled wires.

I went back through the diagram you gave me of the original ezgo wiring and it does not matchup with how ECC wanted me to wire my cart. I will attach it to this post and maybe Iím just reading it wrong but, it shows that there are not any HD cables going to the solenoid.(pic1)

I then tried to follow the diagram you attached at the beginning of this thread and I canít figure out the F/R switch. Is this for a PDS cart?(pic2)

So, Iíll just post how my cart is wired now with all the 2 gauge cables. (pic3) Sorry if the pic sucks, I Ďll list it as well.

F/R B=motor S2
F/R C= motor A2
F/R D=motor S1

Hey Scotty,
Is there any way you could explain the F/R switch in pic 2 above? That is a combination I haven’t tried.

This is how I explain it in my diagrams when I sell cable sets. There are 4 terminals on the rear side of the switch they are 12o'clock 3pm 6pm and 9am.
Without posting my diagrams, it goes like this;
9am goes to S1
12pm to A1
3pm to S2
6pm to B+

That's what I use for everything EXCEPT the stock controller in a series Ezslo.

super , follow the dotted line to the upper right side. that is the hd cable connection. so every thing works good with new sol, new cables, new fnr, new motor and old controller at 36v right? one thing tho, don't know if 36v will activate a 48v sol. i do know you can use a 36v solenoid on a 48v system tho.

so if all the above is correct then you are on the right track to contact jim at lgs. good luck

Ok, that is not how I had it wired but, it still just clicks. I had it wired as:
12 o’clock=A2
3 o’clock=S1
6 o’clock=B+
9 o’clock=S2

My voltage has now changed to what goes to the motor using your method: on 48V
A1=31V
S1=31V

A2=25V
S2=25V

I have volts going to the motor so it should be running if it is in the right configuration right??????
