Default PQ's "The Bandit"

Hey guys. My cart is 36v, 480 Logisystems, 400a Solenoid, HD F&R, 2ga wiring.

I'm trying to figure out the best move to make to add more torque to my cart.

By upgrading to 48v, I estimate that I will be gaining approx 25%-33% more torque (and speed). By doing this, I will have to purchase 2 additional batteries ($100 ea), a 48v solenoid ($100) and a new charger ($300). It's going to be atleast 600 plus tax/shipping.

OR

Do I send my motor to PQ and have them 're-work' it ? This will only cost 225 plus shipping. Anyone have any experience with the performance gained by doing this upgrade?

You will gain some speed and torque from doing the motor upgrade from PQ, but ultimately you will also end up doing the other upgrade as well. I think I would go with the 48v upgrade first then the motor. Good Luck

I agree with Mark, you can save $100 by using the old solenoid. It is new and quite suitable for the 48v system if wire to a 36v activation circuit.

I talked with PQ this past week about this very thing. I I have the same setup and plan to do the same with keeping the control circuit at 36v. I will keep using the 36v charger for a time and charge the other 2 batteries with a 12v charger until I change to an On Board 48v charger.

The stock motor turns about 2350 RPM I am told and @ 48v that may go up to around 3000 RPM. Having PQ do the 48v Bandit upgrade will increase the RPM to more like 4500.

In my case with 18" tires and 12.44 gears:
2350 RPM = 10.1 MPH
3000 RPM = 13 MPH
4500 RPM = 19.4 MPH
If I go to 20.7" (205/65-10) then @ 4500 RPM = 22.3 MPH

Of course this is flat ground.
