Default Losing power on newly converted to 48v

This is the first chance to truely test the new 48v conversion. Made 3 trips in the neighborhood (flat road).
It was fully charged.
1st trip 1 adult 2 small kids. about a half mile
2nd trip 1 adult 2 small kids. about a half mile
3rd trip 2 adults. less than 1.5 miles.

On the 3rd trip about half way, I hit the gas and the radio turned off and there was very little get up and go. When I let off the gas the radio came back on. Hit the gas and it goes off. Very little torgue and the top end is also lacking.

Checked all the cables, everything is tight. Nothing is hot. Pack was reading 42.5v within a minute of stopping. As I sat there the volts slowly increased. I

Not sure what happened.

Any suggestions?

Sounds as if you are not getting a full charge, my pack reads 51 volts after a charge and running throught the neighborhood for a bit. What are your volts right after you get through charging it?

Possibly one bad battery. Yes, it can happen. And second chance is one battery not installed correctly. I guess at that because 42v is 7 6v not 8 So go out and take another look for me.... Pos to neg all the way thru?

Verified cabling. Everything is correct. I checked the voltage of each battery (while they are connected and charging). All read 6.0?, except 1. it read 5.3 (this is one of the 2 the radio runs on).

So I assume this means I have a bad battery.

Right now you only have a SUSPECT battery. Let's see what the charger can do with it before we call it a BAD battery.

Is it a BIG radio? I mean does it have an amp? or anything that would draw a lot of amps?
Did you know Trojan battery co. does not recommend you draw 12v off of any pr in the pack.

no amp. it is a small $90 radio(with 2 speakers).
I read your post from Trojan, good thing I have Energizer
Only 1 of the 2 "radio" batteries is low.

What do you suggest I do to determine if it is bad?

Connect a voltmeter to it and watch it under load, = driving uphill?
What is the story on the batteries?

uphill? uphill here is a driveway.

The batteries are all brand new. Put them in the buggie. drove it about 100 yards to verify the 48 conversion went good. Then put on the charger overnight. SInce then it has been driven 3 times. about 1-1.5 miles each. Then it goes back on the charger.
